Jonas Brothers Story Ch. 57

It was late so everyone went to bed. Abbey couldn't sleep. One because Sam was snoring again and two because she kept thinking about how Joe had stood up for her with Tyler. She got out of bed and went downstairs to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge. She looked out the window and saw the sun about to rise. She heard someone walking up the basement stairs. She knew it was either Nick or Joe. Hopefully Joe. The person walked into the kitchen. It was Nick. Abbey: Hey Nick. Nick: Hi Abbey. Abbey: Why are you up so early? Nick: Couldn't sleep anymore. Abbey: That makes two of us. Nick: Abbey I know you don't want to hear it but Joe's been beating himself up about what he did to you. The whole time you were gone he was miserable. Every time the phone rang he'd hope it'd be you. Abbey: I know. I feel terrible about it. Joe: Oh mornin' guys I didn't know you were up. Abbey: Hi Joe. Nick: Well I'm going to go start waking up Sam if we ever want to see her before three o'clock today. Abbey: Hey she needs her beauty sleep otherwise she can get even more violent than normal. Joe: I didn't think that was possible! Nick and Abbey laughed and then Nick went to go wake Sam. Abbey: *looked at her watch* Oh Snap! I better start getting ready for work. I'm working the early shift today. I'll see you when I get off! She ran out of the room and up the stairs to her room. She threw on a pink t-shirt and her jeans and seakers and pulled her hair back in a ponytail and ran out the door to her truck. She started it up and drove down the road to the shop. She had just pulled up when the manager came and unlocked the door. She went inside. Manager: Good Morning Abigail. Abbey: With all due respect sir, could you please call me Abbey? Manager: After what you little friend did to my son? No way! Your lucky I don't fire you! Abbey: Because of what Joe did to Tyler? That's ridiculous! Manager: Well too bad! You can deal with it or leave Abigail! Abbey: I'll choose leave! Manager: Excuse me?! Abbey: Did I stutter sir? I said I quit! Manager: Abigail! Abbey: It's Abbey! She turned and walked right out the door and back into her truck and back up the street to her house. She walked into her living room and saw everyone sitting there watching the morning news. Joe: Hey Ab! I thought you said you didn't get off till later? Abbey: I did. But I quit. Kevin: You what?! Abbey: I quite my job! Mel: So does that mean that Uniquely Sweet n' Southern is back? Abbey: Back and better than ever! And I'll even come back to Wyckoff! K.K: WHOO HOO! Syd: But what are you going to do about your house? Abbey: I don't know. L: You'll probably need to sell it. Justin: Or rent it out to people. Nick: Or you could give it to someone you know who wants it. Sam: Who do we know that would want this place? Kevin and Mel looked at each other. Mel had the "Should we tell 'em?" face on. And Kevin had the "Go ahead" face.
