John Sergeant is following in the footsteps of Matthew Macfadyen and Colin Firth. He too has played one of Britain's most loved literary characters - Mr Darcy. The veteran broadcaster hops on the tourist trail around the UK in a new series where he follows the adventures of holidaymakers visiting Britain. During the series he encounters some travellers in search of Jane Austin, and takes part in a Pride and Prejudice performance. After travelling the length and breadth of the UK, John said his favourite spot to visit was the Isle of Man. John said: "People think of it as a place for cheap holidays, but actually it's got some grand scenery and the people were amazingly friendly. 3000 Germans go there in the summer to ride their motorbikes. I found that whole sequence, with me being in a 1950s sidecar very funny".
