
(NECN/MLB Network: Cooperstown, N.Y.) - Former Boston Red Sox outfielder Jim Rice was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday. Rice, owner of a lifetime .298 batting average and 382 career home runs, was inducted alongside all-time stolen bases leader Rickey Henderson and former Yankees second baseman Joe Gordon. The former Red Sox slugger was in his last year of being eligible for election to the Hall of Fame without the aid of the Veterans Committee. read more
