Jeff Capel - OU Vs. Texas (2007)

Jeff Capel - OU Vs. Texas (2007)

Sooner basketball coach, Jeff Capel, gets a T after venting frustration over a blown 10 second violation call by the officials. A few minutes later Capel picks up a runaway ball on the court and holds it for a few seconds in retaliation over the poor and lopsided officiating. There is a ref beckoning for the ball (off screen), but Capel fires the ball to the baseline ref standing under the basket, much to the delight of the Sooner fans. Unless you were in attendance you have no idea how intense and frustrating this game was, at times it was almost riotous proportions. After the game Maze and a Texas player (Abrams, I think) mouthed back and forth as they headed for the tunnel and rumor has it that fists were thrown once in the tunnel. (That is unconfirmed.) Further proof of the lopsided calling....with a few minutes left in the game the announcers said that Oklahoma had one more field goal than did Texas, also, Texas only hit two field goals in the entire 2nd half and 22 free throws. The final score was 58 -- 68, Texas. (Game played at Norman 2/24/2007.)
