The miraculous Jewish Defense League (JDL) campaign to liberate over 1 million Russian Jews in the 1980s started on February 23, 1984 when the JDL blew up two Soviet diplomatic cars in Riverdale, New York. This historic JDL bombing made the brutal persecution of Soviet Jewry the lead story on the television news and the front page headline story in the newspapers. This video explains why the JDL bombing was so important. And it was just the first of many actions that JDL took from 1984 to 1987 until over 1 million Russian Jews were freed, baruch HaShem (thank G-d).
