Wow, Ava has been at the Jonas house for a while now! By the way, it's not that late in 'To Love A Jerk' world... Remember she gets there at one-ish or one thirty! So let's assume its around four thirty now okay? Thanks =] Chapter 14! Nick's P.O.V As I took Ava's hand Joe shot me this glare that I really didn't get because I had never seen this coming from him before. It sort of looked like a death glare. I led Ava up-stairs to my room so we could like, bond? Wait, no, to do whatever it is friends do. We walked into my room and she plopped down on my bed. It wasn't until she sat down on my bed that I realized how happy she looked now, a major improvement from before. I pulled up a chair and sat down and laid my legs on the bed. We had walked the rest of the way home in silence, but a good silence, not an awkward one. The whole time we spent in my room we just talked about random things and occasionally slip back to her family and mom, but I managed to totally avoid the topic that went by the name of 'Joe'. "Hey Nick?" Ava said. "Yes?" I replied. "I should probably go now, it's almost six and your mom is probably going to be home soon," Right after she said 'mom', we heard my mom calling out to us from downstairs. We both gave a little laugh before we spoke again. "Pretty, smart and psychic? What more could I ask for in a friend?" I said jokingly. "I don't know you tell me," she said. I watched her get up and head for my bedroom door. I stood up and watched her walk out the door and then I realized that to anyone else but me, it looked like I was checking her out. But is there a reason I shouldn't? "Are you coming Nick? Or are you planning on standing there like a vegetable all day?" "Huh? Oh, yeah I'm coming," We headed downstairs in to the kitchen and found my mom. "We're here mom, no need to shout anymore," I told my mom as I hugged her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Hi sweetie! Your dentist appointment got changed to Monday okay?" "Yeah, I'm good," Ava's P.O.V Mrs. Denise gave me this sly-ish smile when I saw her and then I realized why. Nick and I were still kind of semi holding hands. I quickly let go of his hand and felt something hanging on to my leg. I turned around and was eye-to-eye with Joe, the one person I hoped I'd never have to see again which was insanely impossible unless I left the state. Which isn't that bad of an idea, but I would never do that. We weren't exactly eye-to-eye since he had a couple inches over me, but to avoid eye contact I looked down and smiled at what I found. Aidan was hanging on to me, half asleep. I turned back around and returned to the conversation and saw we were standing in a square like shape, sort of. Joe was on my right, Nick on my left and Mrs. Jonas was holding Frankie standing across from me. "So did you kiddos have a good time?" Mrs. Jonas asked. Define good time Mrs. Jonas! "Yeah, it was really fun," I lied and pasted a huge smile on my face for the moment. "I'm glad! Oh Ava, your eyes are all puffy! What happened? Did one of these silly boys hurt you? Are you all right?" I wish I could tell her the truth but I can't. "Oh no, I've never been better!" "She fell mom, we didn't wanna tell you because you'd get worried" Joe lied, noticing she wasn't really buying my lie. "Did you get hurt?" she asked. "Nope, I'm good," I said. "How'd it happen?" she questioned. "She tripped on a step and at the most she'll have a bruise on her leg," Nick added. This is like the alliance of liars, an alliance of people who don't always get along. "Well, you seem like a strong girl. I'm sure you'll be fine," Mrs. Jonas said and I just smiled at her comment.
