Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves attended the premiere of their latest movie "The Lake House" in Tokyo on Monday night (September 4). More than 700 fans gathered at Tokyo's Roppongi Hills Square to catch a glimpse of the two Hollywood stars. Reeves also received congratulations for his 42nd birthday from reporters and fans. (His birthday is September 3). A romantic epic "The Lake House", which was based on a 2000 Korean movie "Il Mare", weaves a supernatural tale of two people who fall in love even though they are living in different years, one in 2004 and the other in 2006. Dr. Kate (Bullock) is living a lonely life in 2006 and falls in love with frustrated architect Alex (Reeves) in 2004. The pair continue to correspondent through the hand-written notes in a mailbox. Both Bullock and Reeves said at a news conference on Tuesday (September 5) that the old notion of hand-written notes was more romantic and thoughtful than digital words read off a computer screen. "The thing about a letter that you can bring it with you. You know, you can see their handwriting and you can hear their voice in their scent and it doesn't take batteries and it doesn't ...you know.... it's right there you can look at it. It's part of them, you know, to you. It's I think fantastic," Reeves said. 'The Lake House' reunites Bullock and Reeves 12 years after they rose to big-time stardom together in the 1994 action flick "Speed", in which she played an everyday girl who ends up driving a bus that is wired to explode if its speed drops below 50mph. Reeves is the cop who saves her. Both on-and off-screeen, the pair has a chemistry that dates back to 'Speed', helping 'The Lake House' rake in 350 million U.S. dollars at worldwide box offices. "Well, I think you can just look back on anyone looking back for 12 years, he needs it's a lot of water under the bridge. I think it's more we've changed but also our lives have changed a lot from those earlier days so to speak," said Reeves. "Yeah. But you're still just as handsome," Bullock said laughing. "I know Keanu. I don't know but I feel Keanu has had a kiss like this. And I said as a woman what would I want? I said just don't let me speak anymore, don't let there be any talking I want if it's been that long just shut me up and take my face and he did it. Very well I might add," Bullock added recalling the impressive kissing scene which appears towards the end of the film. "The Lake House" will be released throughout Japan on September 23.
