Almost a hundred killed in five days in one city in Iraq's latest wave of sectarian attacks. The revenge attacks took place in the predominantly Shia city of Balad, north of Baghdad. Forty people were pulled from their cars at a checkpoint just outside the city - and have not been seen since. And another 10 American soldiers have been killed - fuelling debate in the United States about their policy in Iraq. One Republican Senator saying the situation is "drifting sideways".
