Introduction of the Euro in Slovakia

The European Commission's Convergence Report of May 2008 established that Slovakia has met the conditions to join the euro area. On 08/07/2008, following the Commission's Report, the Council gave its green light to the adoption of the euro by Slovakia on 01/01/2009. The Audiovisual Unit of the European Commission has produced an infoclip, which includes following footage: - general pictures of Bratislava; - minting coins - people queuing for euro starter kits - double pricing.
