Internal Market and Services : Citizens' Signpost Service (CSS)
This info-clip on the Citizens Signpost Service (CSS), including a declaration by Charlie McCreevy, Member of the EC in charge of Internal Market and Services, is distributed to coincide with the official launch of the European Year of Workers' Mobility 2006, which will take place in Brussels on 20-21/02/2006. Every year thousands of people move within the EU to live, work, study or simply travel in another country. CSS is an EU-wide service that offers people free practical advice on their EU rights, or when people encounter difficulties in exercising these rights. Replies are provided by legal experts, within three working days and in the appropriate official EU language. The reply either provides a direct answer to the question or 'signposts' the user to another service at European or national level that can provide further help, such as SOLVIT or a European Consumer Centre.
