Injured Underwood leaves Dancing On Ice
Dancing On Ice contender Michael Underwood, has pulled out of the ITV1 show after breaking his ankle during a training session.The GMTV presenter said he was "devastated" to be leaving the competition after falling over during a training session.Underwood was in the middle of practising a dance routine with his partner Melanie Lambert when he came crashing down on the ice.The TV personality was taken to hospital after the accident, where X-rays revealed the break."I was really upset but now I'm trying to put it all into perspective," he said."I have worked so hard and I am hoping that the people at home will see I have improved over time from week one to week two, and I would have hopefully improved from week three."I think that's the thing that hurt the most, I put in all this effort and time and I just wanted to prove I could do it - I just haven't got the chance now."But Underwood remained light-hearted and joked: "I would like to be be able to tell you it was something amazing, like some triple axle that I tried to do and failed - but all I was doing was trying to stop!"But it will not be the last Dancing On Ice fans will be seeing Underwood.
