In the buffer zone on South Ossetia independence day - 20 Sep 08

As South Ossetia celebrates the day it declared independence following the first war in the early nineties, Georgians are coming to terms with new realities of their lives. Thousands remain displaced, unable or unwilling to return to their homes as long as Russian forces still patrol a 7km-wide security buffer zone inside their country. Jonah Hull met some of those living in tented camps in the Georgian town of Gori, and discovered a sense of uncertainty inside the buffer zone.
