Hybrids good for environment, bad for blind people

(NECN) - Electric and hybrid cars may be better for the enviornment, but California lawmakers say they are bad for the blind since the vehicles are so quiet. The California legislature passed a bill to ensure that the vehicles make enough noise, so blind people can safely cross the street. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has yet to publicly commented on the issue.
