It may be months away, but the race to the Oscars has begun. Some of next year's possible contenders have been unveiled at a ceremony in LA. Hilary Swank, Charlize Theron and Julianne Moore were some of the stars at the 13th annual Hollywood Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Hilary was honoured for her part as Amelia Earhart in the biopic Amelia The actress said: "It continues to amaze me that I am a working actress, getting an opportunity to do what I love. I am constantly grateful, then to have the film and the work recognized is very humbling." Actor Christoph Waltz picked up a Supporting Actor award for his part in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds. Both stars are now being tipped to receive Oscar nods. Over the last six years, a total of 56 Academy Award nominations and 18 Academy Awards have been given to films showcased at the Hollywood Film Festival.
