Herald reports Patriots’ Watson had recent surgery on ankle
(NECN: Foxboro, Mass.) - The Boston Herald reports New England Patriots’ tight end Benjamin Watson underwent surgery on his left ankle within the past few weeks. The procedure revealed both cartilage damage and scar tissue. It is uncertain if he'll be ready for training camp. Watson reportedly injured the ankle during the second quarter of the Pats' week 6 win at Dallas. According to sources, the procedure was performed by the same doctor who performed ankle surgery on Curt Schilling after the 2004 World Series.
