The pharmaceutical company Roche is under threat of investigation after it has emerged that it bankrolled and promoted an initiative to improve access to cancer drugs. The 'Cancer United' campaign was endorsed by high profile figures like Alastair Campbell and Dr Ian Gibson, the chair of an all party parliamentary group on cancer. Dr Gibson has spoken about feeling conned as he had no idea the campaign was connected to the pharmaceutical company. The industry regulator says it is now "seriously considering" an investigation into whether Roche broke rules on transparency and "disguised marketing". The company deny they did anything wrong.
