HEALTH: Organ donor shortage: top doctor calls for drastic action

Every day in Britain someone dies waiting for an organ transplant; a loss of life which could be prevented. Between four and five hundred people lose their fight to survive each year. The country's chief medical officer has now demanded a change to the system which will end the agonising wait for treatment. Sir Liam Donaldson says the only solution is for everyone to be considered a donor unless they opt out.
