HEALTH: Fears for doctors as MTAS recruiting system problems continue

First there was the massive security breach on the Medical Training Application System for junior doctors, but now with less than a fortnight to go before junior doctors are meant to start their new jobs, the Government still doesn't know how many will be unemployed. The doctors themselves say they do not believe they have an automatic right to a job - just a right to a fair recruitment process. Now speaking for the first time, the man largely responsible for the new training system, England's Chief Medical Officer, admits he is sorry for the debacle. The situation is so serious, NHS employers have put hospitals on suicide alert because of fears about junior doctors' mental health.
