HEALTH / CRIME: Denis Finnegan murder: report critical of mental health hospital

A report has been published into how the murder of an innocent man at the hands of a mentally ill man in September 2004 could have been prevented. Denis Finnegan was stabbed to death as he cycled through Richmond Park. The report into his death pointed the finger at serious failures in the care of his killer, John Barrett, who was a paranoid schizophrenic, at Springfield secure hospital in Tooting, south London.
