Harley Hay - The Backgrounder

'The Backgrounder' is all about a day in the life of an affable, average guy named Dave, as he goes about his very special job. For Dave, it's just another day at a job he loves, a job that takes him to special public places. For nearly everyone else, it's a job that doesn't exist - it's a profession that no one knows about. Even after the tourists come home and look at their photos and videos, they don't realized that Dave and all the other backgrounders (or 'B.G.s') have done their jobs well. This short film is a unique mockumentary capturing a happy, hard working guy who is part of an unusual and elite group with a vital function and a virtual omnipresence. And no one knows they are out there.
