Happy Valentine Day

As like as others countries, in Bangladesh particularly youth and students celebrate the valentine day. Although it’s a western culture but marched with the urban culture since 1994 which was promoted first time by the “Jai Jai Din” weekly magazine by publishing the special issues on this day entitled, “Valobasha Shonkha”. Nowadays this global event is popular to the young generation, organize entertaining culture event and show-biz. On the eve of Dhaka gift shop, restaurants, park and amusement places as young couple. The private TV channel, Radio and magazines publish special issues on this day. After opening western dominated global culture through the private TV channels, Radio the valentine culture become much popular. But devoted cultural activists criticize the expansion of the western culture which may grabs our own identity. Their logic “we have Laily-Mojnu, we have Shri-Forhad so it is wise to receive wide the foreign culture. This is time we have to promote and practices our own tradition .” On the eve of this day, the modern brand music become active and organize countrywide special event and publish special album targeting the young audience.
