Guy Lebas, chief economist at Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, talks with Bloomberg's Carol Massar from Philadelphia about manufacturing in the Philadelphia region and the outlook for the U.S. economy. According to the latest Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia's general economic index, manufacturing in the Philadelphia region unexpectedly contracted the most since February 2001, the eve of the last recession, as measures of new orders and shipments reflected weakening demand.
