UAW leaders talk about how fuel-efficient vehicles and cars are helping to keep union jobs here in the USA. Bob King, Vice President of International UAW, Ford Division, announces Ford's investment in new 6-speed fuel efficient transmissions and the need for Governments to commit to Detroit's environmental technologies. Tom Littlejohn, President of Local 1268, is thrilled that Chrysler's decided to build three new 30 mpg cross-over vehicles at the Belvidere plant. While many locals lose membership, Chrysler's fuel-efficient cross-overs helped move membership at 1268 from 1700 to 6500. At GM's new environmentally friendly, LEED Gold Certified, Delta Assembly Plant, UAW Regional Director, Duane Zuckschwerdt, advocates saving jobs through energy independence
