Goodbye our Precious Puppy

We found Lilly's mother and father abandoned at a barn down the street. We lost her daddy, Snoopy, at the end of May. When Tally (Lilly's mother) was pregnant, I cared for her, and she slept in my room. I helped my dad build the whelping box, and it was placed near my bed. I, alone, was there as Tally gave birth, and even tied off the umbilical cords when she had trouble. When Tally couldn't produce enough milk to nurse, I drove to the store at two in the morning to by formula. I moved out of my dorm, and back into my parent's house, to care for them 24/7. I fed the puppies every few hours, for weeks (I clearly remember the 4 am feedings). When Tally wouldn't stay with them anymore, and they were too young, I bought them their heating pad to keep them alive. They grew up by my bed side. I recorded their every milestone. I could tell you birth order, who opened their eyes first, that Millie (Lilly's sister) was a little piggy and would down an entire bottle if I didn't stop her. I moved these pups onto solid food, trained them, played with them... loved them... These are my pups, my babies. They were very weak and we weren't sure if any of them would survive. The whole first three months were touch-and-go. I was so thrilled to celebrate their five-month birthday last week; all six had survived, they were happy, healthy and playful... perfect puppies. I suppose that is why it hit me so hard when Lilly suddenly became sick. She was stared acting "off" on Friday and we lost her Sunday night. Just three days... There was nothing we, nor the vets, could do... Forgive my rambling, please. My grandmother died on Wednesday, and now Lilly... I like to put together little slideshows for friends and family, as you can see by the videos posted on this account. But, for the first time, I've made this one for myself... a little memorial for my little Lilly... Rest in Peace Tiger Lilly.
