Glastonbury Preview - See the Site!

Music fans will fork out an average of £600 on a festival weekend, a survey has found. A poll of 3,000 festivalgoers showed that many splash out on a new wardrobe and designer camping gear prior to each event. The average pre-festival spend came in at £170, with women admitting they spend an average of £220 before they leave the house. Other expenses include tickets (average £140), drinks (average £130), travel (average £100), and food (average £60). One in five festival campers say they are planning to throw a sickie this year to give them an extra day to recover from the festivities. Some 8 per cent of people claimed they would spend up to 20 hours watching bands play live at festivals, while a third admitted they would struggle to remember which bands they see after downing too much booze. The poll was commissioned by the Lovebox Weekender festival, which takes place in London's Victoria Park from July 18 to 19. Festivals included in the survey included the Leeds and Reading Festivals, Download, Glastonbury, Isle of White Festival, T in the Park, V Festival, Bestival, Latitude, Creamfields and The Big Chill. Glastonbury's organisers allowed the cameras on to the site for the first time for a sneam preview. The festival, featuring Bruce Springsteen, Blur, Neil Young and The Prodigy, kicks off on June 24.
