Givati Soldier Critically Wounded In Last Week's Roadside Bomb Attack Near Kissufim Dies

Sgt. Liran Banai, 20 of Ashkelon who served in the Givati Brigade and was critically wounded in last Thurday's roadside bomb attack against an IDF patrol near central Gaza, succumbed to his wounds on Sunday morning. A Beduin tracker was killed outright in the blast and two other soldiers were lightly wounded. The PRC claimed responsibility. Banai who was his family's key source of income also assisted his parents who are deaf and dumb. Doctors at the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba were forced to amputate both of his legs and fought valliantly in an attempt to save his life.
