World Cup finalists France arrived in Tbilisi on Friday (September 1), for Saturday's match against Georgia, their first Group B qualifier for Euro 2008. Raymond Domenech's squad is without striker David Trezeguet, who has pulled out of qualifiers against Georgia and Italy because of a muscle injury, the French team's spokesman said on Friday. At a news conference in Tbilisi on Friday, Domenech said his players were only focused on the game against Georgia, refusing to be drawn on their next match against the 2006 World Cup winners, Italy. "Now we are only focused on tomorrow's game, as this (Georgian) team should not be dismissed. They won 6-0 against the Faroe Islands, and so we are only focusing about tomorrow's match," said Domenech. "As any team, we are aiming to qualify (for Euro 2008), and we have strong motivation based on this aim," he added. French captain Wily Sagnol said they aimed for a win and all three points against Georgia. "The most serious threat is Wednesday's game (against Italy), and here we are determined to get all three points, so that we can face the Italians with full confidence," said Sagnol. France host world champions Italy in Paris next week.
