Freight Transport

As road freight in the EU is set to increase dramatically by 2020, the EU's trans-European transport network aims to unblock major transport routes and ensure sustainable transport by offering alternatives to road transport. Emphasis is placed on the transport of freight by rail and over water, which represents a viable and less costly alternative to creating new infrastructures on saturated overland corridors. To illustrate the press conference by Jacques Barrot, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Transport, on the "Logistic Pack" of the 18/10/2007, the Audiovisual Service as produced an infoclip wich includes footage of: - Motorway traffic; - Transport of Containers by train between Le Boulou (France) and Bettembourg (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg); - Freight Transport in the port of Zeebrugge (Belgium); - Transport by Barge
