Formula One boss says he's sticking with the championship

The owner of the Force India formula one team has said his team will race in the F1 championship next year. Vijay Mallya's team, together with the Williams set-up, has been suspended from the Formula One Team Owners' Association after signing up for the 2010 championship unconditionally. Other teams had signed up conditionally but, when they decided their doubts had not been dispelled, they announced they were setting up their own break away championship. Force India and Williams will join another three new organisations: Manor F1 Team, Team US F1 and Campos Grand Prix, with other new teams due to be announced for next season when the FIA's negotiations with Fota ends. "I was part of Fota," Mallya said. "All teams were, until they said we should not unconditionally enter the 2010 Formula One world championship. "That was something that I was legally and commercially advised that we couldn't do. So I shared it all with them but they didn't appreciate it and they suspended us, so we went ahead." He added: "As far as I am concerned Force India formula one will participate in the official FIA world championship. What happens with the other eight teams I don't know. "I hope for the sake of the sport that they will find a compromise. Well if they don't we will just have to wait and see how things pan out in the future. But one thing is for sure, the FIA Formula One championship will stay and life will go on."
