FOOTBALL: Bolton Manager denies accepting illegal payments from football agents

English Premiership manager Sam Allardyce has denied accepting illegal payments from football agents in transfer deals. He said agents who featured in a documentary had lied and he had asked his lawyers to take action. His club, Bolton, has promised a thorough investigation into the allegations. Another manager named in the programme, Newcastle's Kevin Bond, announced that he would be starting libel proceedings.
