Foot and Mouth disease outbreak in Surrey: Pirbright Laboratory defends itself
The escape of the Foot and Mouth virus in July was not our fault, says the head of the Institute for Animal Health laboratories at Pirbright in Surrey, the site where faulty drains were blamed for this Summer's farming disaster. The Institute is now trying to regain the trust of the farming community, stressing its vital work in combating both Foot and Mouth and Bluetongue.
