According to a survey of American smokers conducted just this past week, the increasing price of cigarettes is a major motivator when it comes to quitting smoking. In fact, according to the survey, the price of cigarettes is the number one concern to smokers aged 45 and over with health concerns second. In addition, more than half (56%) of all those surveyed say they will be smoking fewer cigarettes as a result of the tax increase and of those who already intend to quit, 72% say the new tax increase will make their desire to quit even stronger.
