FDA panel recommends lowering top Tylenol dose

(NECN/ABC) - The Food Drug and Administration panel of outside experts recommended prescription painkillers, that include acetaminophen, be pulled from the U.S. market because they can make it too easy for patients to overdose. This is only one of the several recommendations from the panel, saying these drugs can cause severe liver damage and even death when taken in large dosage. Margalit Ratner says she took Tylenol, within the recommended dose for more than a decade to relieve her migraines. Then, without warning, she needed a liver transplant. read more
