The fashion world's elite met Rock 'n' Roll royalty at the star-studded Swarovski Fashion Rocks showcase in central London.Naomi Campbell, Lily Allen and Alicia Keys were among the stars that turned up to support the charity event at the Albert Hall which is held to raise funds for the Prince's Trust.And Hollywood was represented by Samuel L Jackson and Uma Thurman, who hosted the event which saw celebrities strutting their stuff on the red carpet, draped in designer outfits.The show paired the world's top designers with pop and rock stars who shared a stage with the models, including Lily Allen and Chanel, Joss Stone, and Calvin Klein and Timbaland and Dolce & Gabbana.Speaking of her pairing with Armani, Alicia Keys said: "I think everything that he does is very unapologetic. It's strong and it's bold and beautiful and that's what my music is."Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto also turned up to play for hot Scottish designer Christopher Kane who kitted her out in a sparkly dress.And the outspoken star reckons she wouldn't mind turning her hand to fashion: "I wanna do things that are really, really cheap," she said.Supermodel Kate Moss provided old school glamour in a 1920s-style flapper dress dripping with 60,000 Swarovski crystal beads in silver, grey and antique green.The dress, thought to be worth £40,000, will be auctioned on eBay with proceeds going to the Prince's Trust.Moss said: "I'm honoured to have the opportunity to raise funds for the Prince's Trust, as it's a great cause. Plus, I get to wear my own amazing couture dress, even if it's just for the night."But the real star of the night was US star Whitney Houston who was the surprise guest at the show.Making a rare UK public appearance, Whitney was greeted with a standing ovation when she walked on stage and in a reference to her most famous song she told the audience: "I will always love you - very much."And with so many rockers in attendance it was no surprise that the show sparked some controversial moments.Iggy Pop ended his performance for Versace by mooning the audience and Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell lit up a cigarette on stage during his set for Burberry.© Independent Television News Limited 2007.
