Exclusive From Beirut, Interview With UNIFIL: Smuggling Arms Over Lebanon-Israel Border Through Ghajar

A report now confirms that the Lebanese man who Israeli soldiers shot dead last week was part of a group of Lebanese nationals trying to smuggle weapons into Israel. The man shot by the I.D.F. fired first at Israeli troops: The soldiers then responded. The group was planning to use the smuggled weapons in attacks against Israelis. The incident isn't isolated. On average, the I.D.F. catches a smuggling operation every 10 days. 2/7/2008
