Exclusive: Anil Kapoor celebrates Oscar wins
Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor has been speaking of his joy at the film's Oscar success. The Bollywood veteran plays quizmaster Prem Kumar in Danny Boyle's multi-award winning production. Slumdog scooped no few than eight Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score and Best Sound. Speaking of the euphoria surrounding the success, Kapoor said: "It has been amazing - it's as if we're dreaming, as if we're hallucinating. We're floating on air. "Winning Best Picture was the icing on the cake. It was tremendous. "And I was so, so excited when Danny Boyle won Best Director. He deserves all the success. It was Danny Boyle who made this film possible and he's a wonderful person." Kapoor said the film's success was down to the friendship, camaraderie and sheer hard work of its entire cast and crew "This was an ensemble cast. It was teamwork, not an individual thing," he said. "Everyone has been working very, very hard, sincerely and honestly and not really thinking about commerce or awards. "It was a good story and we all just did it and look where it has reached."
