ENVIRONMENT: MSC Napoli shipwreck: salvage operation

The complex task of removing more than 2,000 containers from the grounded cargo ship Napoli will begin on the 28th January 2007. Two barge cranes will be used to lift off the containers one-by-one, without disturbing the delicate balance. Residents of the village of Branscombe were told at a mass meeting that the authorities had been caught on the hop.
