Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman's Last Chance Harvey prem

Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson have attended the gala premiere of Last Chance Harvey later. The Oscar winners, who star in the London-set love story, were reunited in the capital for its first showing in Britain. Hoffman plays a hapless New Yorker, Harvey Shine, who befriends Kate, an Office of National Statistics worker played by Thompson. The film is written and directed by Briton Joel Hopkins, whose acclaimed debut Jump Tomorrow landed him a 2002 Bafta for most promising newcomer. Hoffman has said the chance to film in London was a big attraction in agreeing to the film, saying: "It's a favourite place of mine. I've been going there since my honeymoon with my first wife in 1969. "I've been coming ever since. Theatre used to cost about two dollars, but then, I guess, you guys started to copy Broadway." The film, which was nominated for a Golden Globe in the comedy-musical category, is released nationwide on Friday.
