EDUCATION: Amount of state school entrants in top universities falls

They promised fairer access - but fewer state school students are getting into Britain's top universities. This despite the Government's pledge to make Britain's elite education more open to all. This programme has investigated admissions figures for universities in the Russell Group - the 16 institutions with the best results in the country. Thirteen of them have failed to meet the targets they set themselves. When we put our findings to the Higher Education Minister - he admitted 'we must do more'.
