Jan. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Edmund Phelps, a professor at Columbia University and winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize in economics, talks with Bloomberg's Francine Lacqua and Erik Schatzker about the U.S. government's plans to stimulate the economy and ease the credit crisis. Phelps, speaking at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, also discusses measures to remove toxic assets from banks' balance sheets and the outlook for U.S. housing.
