Performer, writer, composer and pianist, Eddie is the New Orleans artist who has recorded the most 45s, second only to the mythic Fats Domino. Born Sept. 20, 1929 in the Louisiana capital, in the course of his brilliant and rich career Bo has developed an original piano style that blends various influences , gleaned from Professor Longhair, Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson, amassing copious recognition. Some of his tunes were performed by outstanding vocalists such as Little Richard, Huey Smith and Chubby Checker and in the '50s the version of "My Dearest Darling" recorded by Etta James actually made the top of the R&B charts. Besides all this, he has played beside artists of the caliber of Ruth Brown, Earl King, Lloyd Price, Big Joe Turner, Smiley Lewis and The Platters. Eddie Bo's trademark is an illuminating fusion between rhythm & blues, jazz and funk that makes him a unique, eclectic showman, for decades riding the crest of the wave and appreciated all over the world. www.jazzascona.com www.lightronixprod.com
