A top Japanese designer has taken unlikely inspiration from a vacuum cleaner to bring a range of baggy designs to a Paris fashion show.Dai Fujiwara, the creative director of Issey Miyake, teamed up with British innovator James Dyson to create the billowing dresses and suits made from the dissembled components of a vacuum. One model wore a skirt that had a 'five year guarantee' tag attached to it and others donned tubular boots and a belt made from a loose coil of grey tubing.Models in the show walked through a giant plastic yellow tube on to the runway and the ceiling was equipped with pipes, reminiscent of Dyson tubes, which pumped out gusts of air.The fashion giant decided to marry its theme with a Dyson to highlight its interest in clever designs and is the latest fashion house to collaborate with a large industrial firm.Giorgio Armani announced recently he would design a flat-screen television for electronics maker Samsung, while fellow Italian house Versace is developing interiors for helicopters and private jets.© Independent Television News Limited 2007.
