Ducks Eliminate Sharks With 4-1 Game 6 Victory

San Jose became just the fourth team in NHL history to win the Presidents' Trophy at the end of the regular season (awarded to the team with the best regular season record) and then go on to first round elimination in the playoffs. In-state rival Anaheim just made the playoffs this year as the eight seed but they managed to pull off the upset in front of their home crowd Monday night and avoid a game 7. Corey Perry, Teemu Selanne, Francois Beauchemin, and Ryan Getzlaf scored the Ducks' 4 goals and Milan Michalek scored the Sharks lone one halfway through the first period. The Ducks advance to the Western Conference semifinals.
