Dow rises to highest level in 2009
(NECN) - The Dow Jones industrial average is at its highest level in more than a year. The index has gained more than 200 points twice in the last three days. Confidence is up partly on news the G-20 will keep stimulus measures in place. The major indexes were up about two percent. The Dow Jones industrial average closed at nearly 10, 227. The Nasdaq composite closed at 2,154-- rising more than 41. The S-and-P 500 ended at 1,093-- gaining nearly 24. Regionally -- Bloomberg’s New England index climbed three quarters of a point. read more
