Disabled access law: Level of access to public buildings for disabled people still not good enough

The disabled access law was meant to ensure disabled people could get easier access to shops, offices, restaurants and bars without having to negotiate tricky steps and doorways. Yet a law which should have made it illegal to discriminate against people with disabilities, seems, in practice to be empty rhetoric.
