Diddy gets political

Rapper P Diddy is the latest celebrity to get political after urging the youth of America to get voting for the next president.Music legend Stevie Wonder, media mogul Oprah Winfrey and Hollywood actor Leonardo Di Caprio, have all turned out to show their support for the presidential hopefuls. But the hip hop star, real name Sean Combs, has posted a rallying message on his MySpace page to encourage his fans to make their vote count. In the post Combs writes: "2008 is the year of the youth voter. The biggest election day in the biggest election year of our lives".The 38-year-old is used to encouraging young people to hit the polling station, after endorsing the slogan 'Vote or Die' in 2004.Back then the rapper refused to endorse a candidate and is keeping to that policy for now, at least. In his blog he added: "You all held it down in 2004 and really turned out the vote. This year I now you will do it even bigger."© Independent Television News Limited 2008. All rights reserved.
