DEFENCE: Public Accounts Committee accuses Ministry of Defence of overspending and mismanagement

The management of big defence contracts for new planes, ships and submarines has been attacked by MPs as "dire." The Public Accounts Committee accused the MoD of being billions over budget, years behind schedule and of failing to meet promises on savings, and moving the overspend to other military budgets.
