Bailee has acknowledged that her personal wardrobe is similar to the raggedy and often mismatched apparel that her character May Belle wore in Bridge to Terabithia. "I'm a ragamuffin," Bailee has joked. There is one scene in Bridge to Terabithia where Bailee's on-screen older brother Jess (played by Josh Hutcherson) says to her, "Don't you dare follow us, or I'll tell Alexandra that you still suck your thumb and sleep with Mr. Blankie!" At the time, Bailee still sucked her thumb and slept with a baby blanket at home, and this scene really upset her, because she thought that Josh was making fun of her. Josh was completely oblivious to this until producer Lauren Levine told him a year after filming, and he felt really bad about it. "She is just so ridiculously adorable," film producer Lauren Levine has said about Bailee, whom she worked with on the 2007 film Bridge to Terabithia. For that matter, all the directors, producers, and actors in the movie have agreed that 5-year-old Bailee was a little ray of sunshine on the set, bringing smiles to everyone's faces with her sweet, loving personality.
