CRIME: Scientific researcher jailed for campaign of intimidation against companies linked to animal testing

A scientific researcher who was working on a cure for cancer has been jailed for waging a campaign of intimidation against companies linked to an animal testing laboratory. Joseph Harris, who has a PhD in molecular biology, is the first person to be convicted under new economic sabotage laws drawn up to protect businesses. Northampton Crown Court was told he targetted firms which worked with Huntingdon Life Sciences after facing what he described as an increasingly moral dilemma.
