Cheshire's Chief Constable has, for the second time in a week, launched an attack on the parents of drunken teenagers. This time he has called for their children to be taken into care. Peter Fahy says the parents of underage children caught drinking should be forced by law to accept help to deal with the problem or face intervention by social services. His comments come a week after Garry Newlove was attacked and killed outside his home in Warrington, allegedly by a gang of teenagers who had been drinking. His death has sparked a heated debate about the best way to deal with anti-social behaviour fuelled by alcohol.
